STEP 1: Armature

Each sculpture begins as an artist’s inspiration. After finalizing a design and deciding on the size of a sculpture, the artist creates an armature (some call this the spine) of the artwork. The armature may be made with a number of substances, including wire, wood or Styrofoam.
